Original Composition or Arrangement

Choose between:

• Commissioning an exclusive original composition. We start with a meeting where you share with me about your special connection so I can create the music for your unique love.


• Commissioning an arrangement of a piece of music you supply.

Your choice of instrumentation.

If you will have a string quartet or other ensemble playing at your big day, you can make it even more special by commissioning me to compose a signature piece for a special moment of your wedding.

Sheet music and digital audio.

Professionally edited sheet music will be supplied for your musicians as well as a high quality digital playback audio file.

Commission Questions

• Genre within classical:

  Do you want a traditional Baroque sound (like Bach), a romantic style (like Chopin), or something more contemporary? 

• Instrumentation:

  Will you have a solo pianist, a string quartet, or a smaller ensemble like a flute and harp? 

• Specific moments:

  Decide which part of the ceremony you want to commission music for, like the bridal entrance, exchange of vows, signing the registry, or recessional. 

• Length of pieces:

  Consider how long the piece should be to fit the timing of your ceremony. 

Commission Fees

I use the CANZ (Composer’s Association of New Zealand) commissioning guidelines when setting my fee for original wedding compositions.
Solo/duet: NZD500 to 1000/min of music | Trio/Quartet: NZD800 to 1300/min of music. The fee includes the exclusive non commercial rights to the music.
